What is Dysport?
Dysport is an FDA-approved injectable treatment used to temporarily reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing specific facial muscles. It is most commonly used to soften frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), but it can also be used in other areas of the face such as forehead lines and crow’s feet around the eyes. Dysport works similarly to Botox but has a slightly different formulation that allows it to spread more easily, which can be beneficial for treating broader areas.
Patients seeking Dysport typically want a natural, refreshed look without a “frozen” appearance. Treatments are quick, minimally invasive, and require little to no downtime. Dysport is an ideal option for both men and women looking to prevent or reverse early signs of facial aging.

What is the treatment process like?
Dysport injections are performed in the office and typically take no more than 10 to 15 minutes. A fine needle is used to inject small amounts of Dysport directly into targeted facial muscles. Most patients report only minor discomfort, often described as a quick pinch or sting. Numbing cream or ice can be used beforehand to enhance comfort. There is no significant downtime after the procedure. Patients can return to their normal activities immediately, although strenuous exercise should be avoided for 24 hours. Minor redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites may occur but usually resolves within a few days.
The effects of Dysport usually begin to appear within 2–3 days, with full results visible by day 7. The smoother, more youthful appearance typically lasts 3 to 4 months, after which retreatment can be scheduled to maintain results.
What are the benefits and risks of Dysport?
Dysport is a safe and effective option for treating dynamic wrinkles—those caused by repeated facial movements. Many patients prefer Dysport for its natural-looking results and fast onset. It can also be used preventatively to slow the development of deeper lines over time.
As with any injectable treatment, side effects are possible but generally mild and temporary. These may include localized swelling, bruising, headache, or slight eyelid drooping. Choosing an experienced injector minimizes the risk of complications and ensures optimal placement for natural, symmetrical results.
